There was a time when entrepreneurial spirit just meant peddling your wares on the streets, shouting on top of your lungs and selling it to willing buyers. Today, it is not far from the truth either but we use a different means to go about it. In this age of technology, we might use computers to peddle our wares and instead of shouting, we present it by using our knowledge and communication skills.

For as much as we could know, there will never be enough if we should shoulder it alone. Knowledge comes from experience, and experience comes from making mistakes and achieving success along the way. The ironic thing is that in school we were given experience before the test, but in life, you are given the test first before the experience.

PUMM was set up to rectify and balance the equation of mistakes and successes so that aspiring young entrepreneurs could learn and share from others’ experiences and also to build strong working relationships through our global network of entrepreneurs. We can never hope to make all the mistakes ourselves to learn from it.

We are in the era of the Knowledge Economy and Globalization at the instance of the most challenging point of time in our country. With the globalization that had brought different nations so close together and business decisions that can be reach in a single second, we can never rest on our laurels.

I tend to look at globalization and technology like a huge wave in the ocean. You either learn to ride the wave and feel the euphoria or you will be buried beneath the oncoming waves that will engulf all who doesn’t have the necessary skill to surf it.

The foundation of PUMM was laid down so that we could work in building young Malaysian to become successful young entrepreneurs and take advantage of the global economy, so that they will become the leaders, future torch-bearers of the economy and culture of our country.
